RockPile Environmental, Health & Safety

RockPile Energy Services is also continuously working to provide the best Environmental, Health and Safety programs we can for our people, our partners and our community.

Take Pneumatic blowing of sand, as an example. OSHA and the EPA are cracking down on the effects of blowing and the resulting silica dust pollution. RockPile conducted a study to compare pneumatic blowers against our Proppant Delivery System. The results stated “The geometric mean result for employee exposure samples from sand handling workers using RockPiles Sand Delivery System was .0874 mg/m3 – almost a four fold reduction.” We saw a 73% reduction in Silica Dust over traditional blowers. Click here to download the entire study.

The Lockton third-party analysis stated,

“’Hydraulic Fracturing Respirable Crystalline Silica Dust Study Results’, shows respirable dust as particles not otherwise regulated (PNOR) and respirable dust containing crystalline quartz were found to be below the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) permissible exposure limits (PEL’s) for the sand mover operator, hydration unit and chemical trailer operator, bulk trailer spotter and quality control operator. “
